The paper aims at exploring the readiness and attitudes towards applying mobile technology in foreign language learning from students’ perspective in a university in Vietnam. A mixed method design was used. The first stage of the research included a survey questionnaire conducted among 220 students to investigate their readiness in using mobile devices for language learning. The second state of the study was an intervention with a mobile augmented reality application integrated in a project-based learning course with a group of 29 EFL students. At the end of the intervention, a focus group interview was conducted among 8 randomly selected students to get data about students’ attitudes toward mobile technology in the classroom. The findings of the study revealed positive results in students’ readiness and attitude toward learning with mobile devices. Implications and suggestions were accordingly proposed at the end of the paper.
