In this paper, foreign direct investment’s motivation of Korean firms to Vietnam and Indonesia will be analysed under the Diamond model and the Generalized Double Diamond model. Vietnam and Indonesia have reached great achievement in attracting foreign direct investment (hereinafter FDI) in ASEAN countries. By applying these models and considering four conditions, strengths and weaknesses of FDI environment of the two countries will be brought out. Also, Indonesia is under the research to be pointed out the common features in the comparision of Vietnam in terms of attracting FDI. They are relatively well-educated labor force, cheap labor, large market size and equally investment incentives. The paper also affirms the win-win solution between these home and host countries.
