The β-lactam has been known for a long time and the class of compound active interesting biological activity as antibacterial, antifungal, a potent cholesterol absorption inhibitor. Recently, reseach has been focussing on development of stereoselectivity of the β-lactam. This article describes the synthesis of β-lactam from kenten, bearing phenoxy-group and imines, bearing phenyl-group. By mean of this synthesis, the compounds of cis-β-lactam were obtained in a good yield. The structure of products were elucated by NMR spectrocopies.
