Sesquiterpene lactons (SL) have been identified in several plant families such as Asteracea, Acanthaceae, Anacardiaceae, Apiaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Lauraceae, Magnoliaceae, Menispermaceae, Rutaceae, Winteraceae và Hepatideae..., A novel sesquiterpenoid, dihydroisoparthenin, has been isolated along with several known compounds from the whole plant of Parthenium hysterophorus. The structure of compound has been settled from its spectral data and biological activity. In this paper five new derivatives of (4R, 4S)-hydroxy-dihydroisoparthenin will be published.
