Summary THE EFFECT OF LIGHTING PROGRAM AT NIGHT ON PERFORMANCE OF BROILER CHICKEN KEEPING IN OPENED HOUSE Tran Thanh Van, Nguyen Thi Thuy My, Pham Thi Hong Thai
The trial were carried out on broiler Ross 308 keeping in opened house with different lighting programs at night; with intermittent light at night, batch I: 1 hour light– 1 hour dark (total light time/period was 18 hours); batch II: 1 hour light – 2 hours dark (total light times/period was 16 hours); batch III: 1 hour light – 3 hours dark (total light time/period was 15 hours); batch IV: light continuously (total light time/period was 23 hours). The results showed that, the performance of broilers kept in opened house was significantly effected by different lighting programs at night. With intermittent light at night of 1 hour light – 3 hours dark (total light time/period was 15 hours) showed the best performance in broilers, after 6 weeks of age, the average live weight was 2237.33 grs/bird, the average daily gain was 53.02 grs/bird/day, feed conversion ratio was 1.94; performance index was 272.75, economic number was 16.79, that differed with the light continuously trial significantly.
