Information technology is increasingly strong development andapplications in all areas of life, including geographic information systems (GIS - Geographical Information System) and globalpositioning system (GPS - Global Positioning System) have been many countries around the world in research and application of biodiversity conservation. In Viet Nam, global positioning system GPS and GIS technology is also widely used in studies of biodiversity. Along with the socio – economic development, the decline in biodiversity also occur, especially for rare plants. Thai Nguyen is home to flora and fauna is plentiful and varied. However, natural medicinal sources here are in danger of running out the many different causes. To assist in creating database and scientific information for research and conservation of plant species subject to protection in Thai Nguyen province, we have advanced sampling and GIS applications plus  construction database and mapping the status of 24 species of rare plants are used as drugsin Thai Nguyen province.
