The folk knowledge in the healing of the nation in general and ethnic Dao and Dao in Thai Nguyen in particular is very unique and rich. Through investigation, we have screenned the nine samples of medicinal plants are ethnic Dao at Dong Hy district, Thai Nguyen province to use as medicines and to determine the presence of coumarin in two thin-layer chromatography and chemical reaction of the lactone group. The results showed that most of the samples studied contain coumarin or its dervatives. From extracts of nine medicinal plants continue to evaluate the anti bac tererial activity with 4 bacterium Bacillus subtilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphycoccus aureus and Escherichia coli. The results obtainned, the medicinal plant have demonstrated resistance to the three types of bacteria B.subtilis, P.aeruginosa, S.aureus which, piloselloides Gerbera species (L.) Cass. most clearly expressed resistance.
