By cyclization reaction of 1-acetyl-2-hidroxynaphthalene with ethyl acetoacetate to get 3-acetyl-4-methylbenzo[f]coumarin. The product was then transformed by condensation with aromatic aldehydes to form a series of new α,β-unsaturated ketones (6 compounds) and (4-arylvinylbenzo[f]coumarin-3-yl)aryl vinyl ketones (5 compounds). Structure of the obtained products were confimed by  IR, ¹H NMR,  ¹³C NMR, HSQC, HMBC and MS spectroscopic data. The biological activities of these compounds have been investigated.
