Eight new compounds of type 2-aryl-4-(4’-methylcoumarin-3’-yl)-2,3-dihydro-1H-1,5-benzodiazepines have been synthesized from a,b-unsaturated ketones of 3-acetyl-4-methylcoumarin by reaction of corresponding a,b-unsaturated ketones with o-phenylenediamine. The purity and structure of the obtained products has been confimed by thin layer chromatography, IR, 1H-NMR and MS spectra. The biological activities of these compounds have been investigated.
